Aston Villa is an English football institution.

That's an undeniable fact.

Chelsea are a rich club who have done very well from the largesse of someone who stole a fortune from the Russian people. Manchester City are a rich club who have done very well from people born into huge amounts of money through the fluke of geology, in a country where human rights are largely disregarded.

Chelsea weren't even formed until the 20th century, FFS.

I know things were super grim under Lambert, but I still don't understand how anyone can possibly have wanted Allardyce in

Watching the match today, seeing that horrific Allardyce - Nolan axis of grimness, that horrible, horrible industrial football, how fucking horrible - that "stand in front of the keeper and harass him" tactic that Nolan got pulled up for is something Allardyce has had his teams do for years now, it isn't just something that happened today.

If he hasn't got the option of the long ball at Carroll to knock down for Nolan, West Ham haven't got a fucking clue.

God knows Villa have disappointed and alienated me plenty in my lifetime, but nothing like as much as they would if we'd ever appointed that absolute fucking horrible relic as our manager.

See also Tony Pulis.

We should be well above that sort of shit.

Surely after all our bed-sheet banners for '[manager] out' over recent seasons we need a banner thanking Tim, maybe for the Burnley game?

'Thankyou Tim - The Pride is Back' would be my suggestion.

Or 'Thanks Tim for putting the pride back'.

It is amazing what he has done with the exact same players. I mean, its hard to overestimate his achievement.

I confess I was underwhelmed by his appointment, after the relief of Lambert's departure. Very pleased to be proved wrong.

I'd take Allardyce and Premier League football over the oaf Lambert and Championship / League One obscurity any time. At least Fat Sam has thought about the way he plays, as joyless as it might be, as opposed to Thick Paul's dim offering. Thankfully we've got Sherwood who, for the first time in years, has made me feel like we actually have a manager.

Out of the frying pan, and into the fucking fire, eh? Getting a bit warm, now,

Burn, baby, burn!
Sherwood inferno!

It's getting hot in here,
So take off your gilet!
I am
Getting so hot
I wanna take Tim's clothes off!
