Despite the result another very impressing tactical performance today. Yes it was a negative line up but given Yaya Toure has endlessly strolled through our midfield in recent years, it was needed to counter space for him and David Silva who didn't influence the game at all.

Also worth noting we had actually had better possession today, 55-45%. I know we lost (due to individual errors and slack marking) but remember the endless high fives Lambert gave himself when we had high possesion but hardly had a shot on goal around xmas.

Well today we scored two goals on a ground where we hardly ever score and should've had a third from a penalty so there is end product to go with this play.

Sherwood has earnt the right and trust to get us over the line in the last few weeks, I'm a fan.

First time in 6.5 years that City have been in the minority for possession at home in the league.

When you consider where we have been this season and how much their side cost to put together, if someone had told us we would have more possession vs Man City away, and be easily the better side even in defeat two months ago, we'd have had them committed.

I REALLY didn't want Sherwood. I'd have rather have kept Lambert than appoint Sherwood. That's how shit I thought he'd be.

I was wrong, he's been a brilliant appointment. Even if we don't stay up, and lose in the final, he's totally transformed us. If it doesn't work out long term, he's still been a fantastic appointment.

You could tell in interview that he was genuinely gutted at the result and the sense of injustice. He feels the hurt of loss very clearly.

Very proud of our performance again today, spoilt only by Guzan's massive fukc up and shite defending in the wall.
And, we always get shit refs!
And Tim agrees!

The commentator on NBC said early in the game that Citeh had not conceded at home in over 7 and half hours. Haven't bothered to check that stat but encouraging for us if so.
Apart from the continued use of Richardson at LB, I think TS has done okay so far.

his honesty sometimes gets him in trouble but he felt exactly as we felt after that loss. I like the fact that he is blunt and says it as he sees it. Interesting that in the interview I watched on Sky he never mentions the first goal but says we didn't do well enough on the other two.

Wall incident aside I thought Richardson was ok today.

Our full backs are shit. Get Hutton fit ffs. Richardson is a pony. I hope he rips this defence up in the summer and starts again. Hutton, Clark I'd keep, maybe a couple of others, but Richardson, Lowton, et all are such weak links.

Noticed that too - asked directly about the first goal and made a general point about no-one tries to make mistakes and moved on to talk about something else.

Wonder what he said to Brad?

What surprised me is Lowton was very decent at left back and even won the penalty against Albion. Why he is not either right or left back over the two there I am a bit perplexed by.

agreed.

Might not give a gazillion percent in training.
