Tactically he's about the same as Lambert, albeit with clearer ideas, but we're seeing the huge difference mentality makes. Teams often reflect their manager's personality, and under Lambert we were dour, depressing, fearful and muddled - under Sherwood, we're headstrong, aggressive, a little reckless and fucking up for it. One is much more likely to get you out of trouble than the other.

We'll let him off seeing as it was his first match back, but I hope he doesn't start sounding like Bridget Jones after being dumped again.

A lot of managers learn and make their mistakes lower down so are more adept by the time their PL chance arrives. Sherwood is learning as he goes in the hardest league in England. There are going to be moments we wishes he had back. Also remember he's still learning about the players in the middle of a massive injury crisis. It can't be easy at all.

Garry Lineker clearly loaded a few questions hoping he'd bite and write their headline, but his answers, whilst interesting, were no-where near sensational enough to create any controversy. He's done that a few times recently, simultaneously bigging up Villa without offending Spurs.Easy to say after a great win, but he's proving to be a way more intelligent manager than I ever imagined he'd be.
