Now he's here are we going to give him a chance to prove himself?

It's so frustrating when every word is picked apart, football managers seem to have expectation placed upon them that they are everything to everyone. Tactical geniuses, master motivators, great speakers, able to think on their feet, lovely people, look young, don't wear clothing that upsets the sensibilities of the fashion-conscious fan and that have an all-round ability to be perfect.

Don't worry, Drum, after tonight everybody will be claiming he's the best thing since Ron Saunders. They're a fickle lot on here. ;)

I'm all for giving a new guy a chance but he doesn't help himself when he says something that the opposition are bound to use to fire themselves up.

No they aren't. They won't care about it.

I'd imagine most of them believe it too. First thing you do when you sign for the Albion is instruct your agent to find you a bigger club. They can never get out of there fast enough.

Sherwood said: "Is there any extra needle in this match for me? Not at all. Good little club isn't it?

"It just wasn't right for me and wasn't right for them. I am delighted to be at this massive club."

Excellent :) I don't give a damn about how fired up that makes West Brom I like it.

Now just win Tim!

I hope they are fired up and go at us hell for leather. In reality Pullis will have them organised and disciplined, playing their 10 men behind the ball which has seen them start to inch their way out of trouble.

You only ever hear about how the opposition manager inspired a team when they have won, if the result goes against them then it is quietly ignored.

Exactly Chris. We want them to come out at us.

No they aren't. They won't care about it.

Their own chairman called them a "mid-table Championship club" last season.

I've gone more off him, if anything, but I hope tonight is the best footballing night of his life. Until the weekend.

Very well done Tim! Now as you say, don't look back. Build on this, win at the weekend and the skepticism that we have of you will start to disappear quite quickly.
