I hope he turns us around and saves us, but if for arguments sake we lost all of our remaining games do people think he'd be sacked?

If we lost literally all our games? If we could possibly afford to sack him then I'm sure we would. That would be 14 in a row, FA Cup included!

I think if we went down but made some sort of valiant effort to stay up then he'll be at the club next season. If we lost every game he'll be gone. Won't be about money at that point.

I liked his press conference today. Just seen it on SKY. Said he is not taking the pressure off the players because the pressure is undoubtedly on when you are a big club and bottom but one of the table at this stage. They have to live with it. Says we will need to win less games if we can win those against our rivals near the bottom.

I remember reading the Secret Footballer about Sherwood after the episode with the manager of Benfica, and he basically said that players take their cue from their manager, and Spurs' manager was ridiculously easy to wind up. It was obvious that he wasn't concentrating clearly on the game, and the players ended up jumpy and nervous.

There are plenty of managers of significantly greater reputation that have been wound up over the years. I certainly wouldn't hold that against him. Look at some of the stuff that has come out of Louis Van Gaal of late, or over the years from Wenger or Benitez. If we are looking for flaws in Sherwood it should be mainly based on his inexperience level and whether or not he has the ability to get us out of this situation. That he got a little wound up or distracted by another manager in one game shouldn't come into it.

I would say he wears his heart on his sleeve. I think that, like most things, has it's positives and negatives.

Just read that he's watched all this season's games back. Fair play - I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. It's bad enough when you don't know what the end result was.

we'll now read tomorrow that he's slipped into severe depression. He was rescued last night from his bath tub, half empty bottles of sleeping pills and Grey Goose lying next to him. He passed out just before he was able to the throw in the toaster.

I heard he asked one of our players to throw the toaster in and they threw it to the wrong bath.

I have to disagree with you on the players realising the shit they are in. They've lacked urgency, tempo and effort in a lot of games this season and it hasn't all been down to tactics. I've thought they've needed to man up, put their bodies on the line, fight for every 50 /50 ball and knock on and it hasn't been like that, not just because they haven't been told to do it, some things are instinctive and attitude and not tactical. Things have been too easy down at Bodymoor Heath.

For me this completely wrong. What you're saying is the typical English response to poor performance, that it must be down to not working hard enough.  Sherwood is saying similar things and it's why I'm not entirely sure why he was such a clear choice for the club.

Working hard does help but only with suitable training and tactics to focus that effort. The simple counter argument to anyone who cites lack of effort is for them to watch Weimann, his biggest problem is that he actually works too hard and ends up being a bit headless chicken.

What we need is a plan of how we win the ball back and how we pull defences out of position and then everyone needs to work at making those plans successful. If we get it right the confidence the players get from seeing that they can compete will take care of a lot of the other issues.

On Saturday Sinclair had a really good chance early on at the far post...he almost seemed to let the defender knock it out for a corner rather than go for the ball...in 2nd half Benteke for N'Zogbia's cross doesn't even move for the ball...the defender is behind him and beats him to it. How ffs?

It can't just be lack of confidence, surely.
imho both of those chances were "good" and at least one should have been buried.

While I agree Sinclair didn't have a particularly good game against Newcastle I think he's done really well since he's come (especially for someone who hasn't been playing regularly for so long). I think there are plenty of other places and people that deserve criticism before him - in fact there's a pretty long queue.

Agree he's done well and I hope he's in the team tonight...he offers a genuine threat.

Just an observation that he should have done better in that particular instance.
You're right, there's more than a few players in the squad who have consistently underperformed.
