He'll fight, if only for his own reputation, but if he introjects that into the players we'll see a transformed squad.
If introjection occurs, followed by projection*, I will be ecstatic.

What What's disgrace he's only been given 13 games and no transfer window to sort us out. Can't argue with anything he's said or done so far,but the shambles he inherited will take years to sort out .This season if he keeps us up he's performed a miracle ,he needs something to build the confidence, today is massive.

^ fully agree. Sherwood needs a miracle to get us out of this mess. I quite like the idea of a sports psychologist to work with the players too. Perhaps he, or she, can persuade Gabby to start thinking like a footballer. We are in such a mess.

It's a hypnotist that Gabby needs.

You are not Gabby Agbonlahor. You are Lionel Messi.

The fact that a sports psychologist has not been involved before speaks volumes for the limitations of previous managers.

We've not even had an assistant manager for most of the season. Quite unbelievable how amateur things have been run. Added to that, the U21's have only just been moved to a training pitch next to the first team. It gets easier to see why we are where we are.

Correct. How far behind are we?

British Cycling for instance has heavy focus on psychology.

Said it before we act like a bunch of amateurs.

Certainly have to question Sherwoods judgment after today.  Leaving Agbonlahor on for so long despite yet another woeful display, not bringing Gil on as well.  Have to say I think bringing MacDonald back is also a mistake.  Smashing guy, but simply not effective as a coach as we saw in his first spell.

He should have contacted a sports psychologist on the Monday following the Leicester win. It's so obvious the problem is mostly in the mind that it's beyond belief nobody has bothered to do anything about it. I suppose it's an ego-manager thing, like admitting he can't motivate them.

If it were me, I'd have a team chock-a-block with analysts, psychologists and data twitchers. We're in such a mess that any advantage has to be worth pursuing.
