Alex Ferguson wasn't a coach. Mourinhio isn't a coach. I want a manager who can win games. What's the big obsession with a coach? A coach belongs in the NFL.I think the obsession is that we haven't got any and it fucking shows. No, a coach is something obssessed with only recently. Go backs few years and they're nothing. Who's Man City or Chelsea's coach? Do they matter more than their managers? No. Blatantly not.One of the things that worries me moist about SherwoodI think perhaps that you care too much.

Quote from: brian green on February 14, 2015, 08:28:56 PMMont, I think you get the wins, home and away by motivating the players. Buy in the staff to apply the polish to the players.Mourinho once said about motivating players that 'if they're not motivated, they shouldn't be at the club.' Obviously man-management is important, and Mourinho was doing his usual stuff there, but it's massively overrated in this country and tactics are massively underrated. Why do we think we never do anything in World Cups? Because we're not 'motivated' enough? We never learn.

If you don't understand that, well I give up.

on these boards during the last few weeks and months there has been a common sentiment along the lines that anyone would be better than Lambert
Good luck Mr Sherwood. You have my full support and a half decent squad of players to work with.Ignore the people on this site who slag you off before you have even started and for no good reason. They will be the ones who "always backed your appointment" after you win 2 games in a row (and then start to talk about qualifying for the Champions League).

Also (and I am really stretching here but bear with me) Diego Simeone has gained success a lot by his ability to fire up his players game after game.

I've never seen anything that can demoralise players more than not having a gameplan and getting ripped to shreds by the opposition.
Oh no doubt and the last thing I wanted was another british tactical dinosaur. I guess we will just have to wait and hope Sherwood is not that stereotype.
