I'm not as gutted about this as everyone else seems to be. He's not my first choice but I think he has enough about him to keep us up this season and that's been my major worry.

Who is running the Villa; Rip Van Winkle??    I'll be over 70 before we/I see any success I can feel it. What a waste!

I'm disappointed. There were other options and they weren't considersd in any depth. I am also very disappointed that they clearly spoke to him in broad daylight while Lambert managed the club on the pitch below him. That's rather deceitful and not how things should be done.

He's going to be the opposite of Lambert and maybe that is what we need. I don't think we'll be relegated because we have enough about this squad not to be. I just hope he doesn't make a complete wanker of himself in the process and alienate the fans and squad. I hope he learned something from his short spell at Tottenham. Right now we need an injection of energy. He'll provide that.

I'd like to see him bring Hoddle and Steve Clarke in to help. Then I'd have faith.

Very glad this appointment was made without listening to the mob. That was how the last appointment was made!

The appointment before last was made "without listening to the mob". Remember that one?
He did keep us up though 😉

His last match in charge of Spuds was smashing us 3-0.

Congratulations, you fucking idiots, you've added another embarrassing entry to your list of shit appointments.

We really have given up.

Don't like Sherwood but the one thing I do ask of him is that he puts the interests of Aston Villa ahead of his own interests. On the subject of tomorrow I don't think he can be blamed if we don't win.

He has an impressive record of developing youth cf. bringing through the hottest property in English football right now and if his motivational powers are good enough to get Adebayor looking consistently good
Are you his mum or his agent?

Nonetheless he is here. Let's hope he does it.

That is absolutely critical because right now the coaching talent at Bodymoor is horrendous.

A bit sad and bewildered by half the thread calling him all manner of negative things. He's got his badges so is not just some thick fucker from the wrong side of the Watford gap. He has an impressive record of developing youth cf. bringing through the hottest property in English football right now and if his motivational powers are good enough to get Adebayor looking consistently good are owt to go by, who knows how much he may be able to coax from Benteke, N'Zog and our other talented under-performers?

I think he will galvanize us, its about time we had a bit of brazen arrogance about the place, we've been far too nice for years. So, welcome Tim. Fook the begrudgers - unless you start acting the twat and cant turn us around.

If you're upset by what we're saying you should see the Spurs fans say about him. Or what he says about his own players.

Oh dear, that is not what we wanted is it children? The AVST meeting should be entertaining especially if we lose to Leicester in the cup.

A depressing appointment, and not just to the end of the season as well.

If we lose in FA Cup it will have absolutely sod all to do with Sherwood's appointment less than 24 hours before the game.

If we win don't be surprised to hear Sherwood taking the credit.
