4 5 1 with Gil behind Gabby I reckon

That may be the plan but Sinclair, Andi and Gil are hardly the type of midfielders you'd ask to fight for you in the mother of all battles. To me it looks more like 4-2 bloody 4 with Sinclair and Andi expected to do a lot of chasing.

I honestly think the twat wants us relegated. A two man midfield against 5 from Hull?

I assume he's going to expect everyone to chip in defensively, but more importantly attack their full backs with two wingers.

Fear not, they'll all be "excellent" wherever they play.

No Vlaar, Sanchez or Benteke. I swear the bloke just picks names out of a hat.

So we finally have blokes who can put in a decent cross and drop Benteke. Still, Gabby will hopefully have his one good game every 6 months tonight.

Jelevic will probably score off his arse against us too.

Benteke and Sanchez for Weimann and Gabby in our side and we would be in with a good chance, but that side just looks like it would struggle to hold the midfield. Might be setting up to counter.

Still, if we can't score a couple against a three man defence of Paul McShane, Alex Bruce and Michael Dawson we might as well give up now.

Why worry about them having a 5 man midfield when we have the players we do?

Can Bent Be Bettered!, meet Mr Lambert.

Vlaar has been out for 5 weeks and neither Clark or Okore deserve to be dropped anyway imo.

Maybe we're planning to go with Lambert's 'new style' which was his 'old style' before he introduced his 'new style', basically bypass the midfield completely and hoof it.

Brilliant. Buy a winger. Play him. And take out your target man. The ludicrousness of dropping Benteke is matched only by the brilliance of finally dropping Cleverley

Given, Vlaar, Bacuna, Cleverley, Benteke, Sanchez, Cole

Not many sides in the league have a bench of that quality, arguably three of our best players on it. Grealish, Richardson, Baker in the stand and Kozak, Senderos injured.

Both sides are very attacking. Hull going with two up top.

We have a midfield of midgets tonight, worried about how they might dominate us at set piece time without the likes of Benteke and Sanchez.

Gabby did play very well against these at the start of the season but huge call to leave Benteke out from Lambert

Reports say they've been a very good unit, Dave. No idea if it's true or was just limited to the Man City game.

No Benteke or Sanchez. Well it better work for him, because this should really be last chance saloon.

No Benteke with Gil and Sinclair finally starting together? What an idiot move to depend on Gabby to score. It's funny how the SECOND the media start asking how Cleverley features in every game despite his faults the kid is dropped.

Paul Lambert is a bizarre old man.
