All very honest replies. I can understand the ill feeling towards Chelsea. If I had not supported them since 1969 I would no doubt feel the same.

What I would like to say is that Aston Villa are a great old club and I wish them well this season.

Thanks again for the replies which I will use.

What I wish on your club is unprintable. You will never ever in a thousand years be a great old club or ever have one ounce of the class my club does. I hope you do use the replies here because they epitomise what almost every football fan I know thinks about your classless chavvy club. And I doubt it very much indeed that you can understand the hatred towards your lot. They represent everything that is wrong in football, not that you'll be bothered by that I'm sure.

Moaning Manager, thug centre back, never, I repeat never a big club. Only Romans money makes you credible at all.

However, brilliant Manager, some great players, wish you had a little more class though and remember when you weren't so great. Never forget your roots.

Don't take it personally Andy Lochhead.
You're obviously an old-school, genuine Blue supporter.
Enjoy the success while you have it. It's been bought with a cheque book and is temporary.
As soon as another billionaire comes along - to buy Orient or Accrington Stanley or Kidderminster Harriers, Chelsea will be forgotten.
Such "success" is nothing to be proud of.
It hasn't been worked at, for, or in any way admirable.
It has been bought.

Without a doubt, Villa's and Forest's 80s successes (for instance) were achieved through careful management and limited financial dealings. Something to consider and admire.

In recent years it's simply been a matter of more money, more success.
In a word, shite. "We're a big club, the rest of you can f**k off!"
Especially for the game of football, for the vast, vast majority of clubs.

Chelsea epitomise perfectly the dreadful state of the modern game - great for the top 4/5 in the PL - tough luck for everybody else. In the PL, Championship, Leagues 1, 2 and beyond.
Great for you guys - at the moment - shit for everybody else.

Be proud?

Chelsea. Summed up to me when leaving Wembley after the cup final in 2000. Me and a mate had waited for the presentations as we thought even though we were a well pissed off with the result and performance we didn't know when we would see the Villa there again.
On leaving the stadium walking down the steps we were next to Chelsea fans. I remember saying along the lines of "you could have let us win it, we don't know if we'll get here again anytime soon"
This was met with "fuck off you Villa wankers. You Brummie useless c***s." After a little altercation and police intervention we made our way back to the pub.
Ungracious in victory.
Classless is the only word I can use. Oh and wankers.

I have a few very good mates who are long-time Chelsea fsns so don't have quite the vitriol articulated by most of the others.
Funny, cos the Bournemouth fans seemed to quite like us.

Whereas we of course would be handing out canapes saying "Hard luck old boy, what?"

It would be nice to find out how we'd react to be honest!

I'm going for a few beers and to the game with a Chelsea fan tomorrow. He's a great lad, proper football fan and has plenty of issues with EBJT. I also don't mind Mourinho... I still hate Liverpool more, is that my age showing?

The word 'gobshite' was invented especially for him.

I dislike Man City more, though I can't quite explain why.

Because they really are the final proof that what you need to win the title is an owner willing to spend about £200m a season (or whatever) to win stuff? Chelsea were at least winning cups and playing in Europe before Abromovich turned up - I know they were about to do a Leeds - but City were basically the equivalent of Stoke (in terms of quality of the side) before their new owners took over.
