That Reading game in 2010 was the first game after we'd lost in the final to Man United. 90 minutes and back at Wembley. Job jobbed!

2010 we drew Reading away. We were 2-0 at half-time, but came back to win 4-2.

2010 QF ? Who was that v Arsenal ? Lost 0-3 ?

1983 we lost at Arsenal 2-0.

I seem to remember they bought Vladimir Petrovic from Yugoslavia after the '82 world cup, it took six months to get past the Eastern European red tape and bring him over to play and he ended up playing about six games and scoring one goal for them*, against us in that game. I think Tony Woodcock got the other. He liked playing against us.

13 games, 2 goals. I wasn't far off.

Our last quarter final at home was Preston in 1960. Since then we've been away in 1962, 1977, 1980, 1983, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2010.

I hope we aren't tempting fate talking about the QF at this stage .

Who did we play in 96? I can only remember that sole destroying defeat to Liverpool in the semi.

We are not tempting fate, we are merely discussing research into statistical probability.

That was a wretched Semi Final. We never turned up.

It didn't help that we'd won the League Cup final a week earlier and Gareth Southgate had got injured playing for England midweek.

Franz Carr scored the winner at Forest I seem to recall, 1-0.

Southgate played as well, didn't he? Even though he was plainly unfit and had his knee heavily strapped.

I think he came off injured but I'd have to check. Either way, a final and an international in the previous seven days is hardly good preparation for a semi.

I seem to remember him having to go off for treatment early on and then coming back on only to lose Fowler for the first goal.

Thats it! It pissed it down that morning. I kept thinking of Wolves, but we played them in the League Cup quarter final.
