It still wouldn't explain why he's not playing.

Maybe he picked up a knock in training, or simply a game off. The latter would be odd as he just missed three through suspension.

It could be Vlaar.

Just noticed no N'zogbia either in the 18....were rumours of a loan move to Everton.

Big player announcement is probably some youth team kid signing a new deal.

New contract for somebody is my guess.

After watching our defensive indecision from balls into our box return when he started against Leyton Orient, Given's inclusion is a bit of a concern.  Other than that I think we're looking at the usual flat midfield three set up with Gil behind Benteke and Weimann.

Actually there was a bit of a stir about that youth team player staying at Villa recently when Bayern were interested.

Cleverley? Sighs.

Exactly my reaction Legion. I promised my girlfriend that when I saw that Cleverley was in the team, I wouldn't become despondent and curse the air blue.

My promise has been kept, but my God, he's a waste of space. Please prove me wrong, Cleverley.

Cleverley got lost on his way to the ground (much as he does trying to find the last 3rd of the pitch) and has been sold to an oil sheikh in Oman?

New Delph contract? Permanent deal for Cleverley? N'Zog gone to Everton?

That's either Ron or worryingly Cleverley. Going by the shoulders I'll go Ron
