Nobody buying into to Mayweather Pacquaio hype on here I see ... I don't know who will win, but I will own up and say I'm probably the only person outside the Money camp who wants him to win.

Not really interested now, 5 years ago it would've been a brilliant fight.  Both at their best I'd say Pacquaio would've shaded it but given their respective styles I think Mayweather is favourite now, not sure Pacman hasn't taken a few too many punches and lost a little too much of his speed.  I reckon Mayweather knows that as well which is why the fight has taken so long to put on.

My local was going to show it until a visit from the plod telling them they are not allowing anybody in the area to stay open for it.
Sky will lose a bucket load on it as well,Mayweather is just a do enough fighter which people aren't going to stump up 20 quid for.

I find it sad that Mayweather only talks about money and doesn't seem too concerned about his boxing legacy.

I can't see it being a very exciting fight to be honest.  On the whole, Mayweather isn't a particularly exciting fighter (although a brilliant one) and I can see him concentrating on negating Pacquaio at the weekend rather than looking to attack.

Mayweather is a very defensive boxer, he's got a good guard, a solid chin and he counter punches well. He's spent most of his career boxing that way and he wont change for this fight.  At his best I think Pacman was quick enough, both his hands and his movement, to make that defend and counter style a lot less assured.

Put them together now and I agree, I'm not expecting a great fight.

Anybody watch the weigh in?
Both Showtime/HBO will be using their ring caller. It could be a very long night/morning come fight time.

Pretty amazing scenes really.  A full arena for a weigh-in is a bit unreal.  There was definitely more support in the arena for Pacquaio.

Probably closer to 10 years ago than 5 but I agree. For Mayweather i think it's all about his record. He wants to be Marciano and go out with a 50-0 record. Win this and he's got two fights left to do it. He wouldn't have taken on Pacquiao when he wad angerous as it put the record in jeopardy so he's waited. Win this, as most think he will, on points, and he'll know he's good enough to beat him and may do a re-match then he'll have one more fight to take the record. Khan can forget it because he won't get a look-in now. Mayweather doesn't have the power to knock him out and his hand speed is too fast and could cause problems for Mayweather. He'll give up one or two of the belts to finish off against a someone or other he knows he can beat. Get to 50 wins and it'll be ta-ra.
