A much better day on the fairways of Breadsall Priory yesterday, I had a 76. Much happier than last week at the FoA.

In answer to the slowplay question, I think it really does depend on three things; awareness of others/the game, level of ability and not copying the pro's. The latter is a real problem with some...practice swings galore, lining up putts to the millimetre even when 30ft away, not being ready to play etc etc. I think courses should have notices on the tee boxes reminding people of slow play and to let groups through, replace divots, pitch marks and so on. It's generally better at courses that have an on course marshal.

Yesterday, we played (4 ball) 18 holes in 3hrs 45mins. We had a group of older members behind us (4 ball) playing 'speed' golf, they were more or less hitting in unison, especially to the greens. We couldn't let them through as we had 2 ball in front, with another 4 ball in front of them. It was irritating, but I now use a saying a fella told me whilst playing...'no matter what's happening on the course; slow play, bad weather, not playing well...it's better than work'.

Nothing worse than someone right up your arse when you're having a round particularly if they've nowhere to go. Luckily the courses I've played of late have been fairly quiet.

I run a fairly large golf society and typically we get 35-45 people at each of our events. I'm forever trying to stress to our members how important it is to keep up the pace of play yet for some, no matter what you do, they won't speed up.

I'm one of the better players (society handicap 5) and like to play quickly, but the speed of some of the 'lesser' players is woeful. It's not just because they are taking a few more shots, it's the general 'faffing about', things like not having your glove on when it's your turn to play and my bugbear, getting to a tee (with a clear fairway) and standing there for a minute filling in your scorecard. Just take your shot and fill in the card when one of your playing partners is driving!

The worst thing though is those that have been told by their professional that they should have a pre-shot routine, as that is what the pro's do. They go through this lengthy process and still duff it, but everything takes twice as long as it should.....tossers!

Rant over, early tee-off at Whittington Heath in the morning, it's always quick at 7.30am.

Tiger Woods shares the lead at the Wyndham at -11. He needs to finish top 2 to qualify for the Fed Ex Cup

Solheim Cup all level after opening foursomes.

Wonder what all of the hugely successful and talented Asian golfers make of this - they'd probably defeat a combined US/Yurp side.

One of my favourite courses Silhill, bloody lovely. Have a pint in the clubhouse and take in the views.
I would say that Gleneagles is one of my favourite places in the world.

Followed 2 ladies around today. They were pacey but the 4 ball in front of them refused to let them through. 4 1/2 hour round of golf.  Very annoying.

The biggest issue here is women on a golf course in a playing capacity.  ;)

Were you in the fourball in front of them?

Accusations of non-sporting behavior and an epic choke on the final day - the European Solheim Cup team stole the US Ryder Cup Team's playbook.

Not a bad weekend for Jordan Speith ,cheque for £7.5m for FedEx cup win. Day gave him a good run, poor year for Rory.

Had the chance to play the West course at Wentworth on Saturday. Beautiful clubhouse, bar etc with great service. Practice facilities were good as well. The main course was very quiet; we caught the fourball in front of us at the 8th (Iain Dowie and his mates).
The course though was very tough. I didn't play that well, but the greens were slick and if you were out of position you were doomed. I did manage to par the two par 5's that finish the round...which was nice.
