One of these please, Mr Lambert

What a screamer this was. League Cup game vs Leicester. We dominated this game from start and peppered their goal but it took this stunner with about ten minutes to go to make the break through. I remember the rain lashed down in this one too. Up there with Tottenham Villa 1994 League Cup game as one of the wettest I can remember.

Or this. Garry Parker vs Sheff United. Lashed that one in.

Three stunners vs Middlesbro' in the first match after Yorke was sold. Whatever happened to Alan Thompson? And I think Gary Charles is bankrupt now?

Four absolute stunners from Villa at Spurs in 2000. Think we'd just qualified for the FA Cup Final the week before. Heady days.

We can blame Lambert all day long but one of our midfielders should have scored a screamer by now.

What a goalline scramble for Cascarino's goal v Derby. You don't see those much now, referees quick to blow the whistle. Best goal mouth scramble I ever seen in a Villa game was Norwich at home in 1994, they scored from it eventually but Bosnich missed the cross, they hit the post, both Richardson and Phil King cleared it off the line before their player scored.

Alan Thompson ? He is working at Blackpool FC.

Thanks for posting some Villa goals Deano.

Thompson came through the ranks at Newcastle at the same time as Lee Clark didn't he?

This was a great away day.
Had a sore throat for about 3 days afterwards!
