they're not playing badly, but they don't look like scoring.

Which is the whole point of football. We only look more solid than last season because we cowardly keep maximum number of players behind the ball at all times and we replaced the fullback weaklings with men.

It's just really dull again with a slight shuffling of the chairs on the deck to make it look like he's trying something. Unless Gil is the next Messi he's going to look bollocks for us with the way we approach a game.

How good is Carlos Sanchez though?

Take the shot away, pretty average.

Which instantly makes him our best player.

Seriously though, BBC just said it's 2 wins in 17 league games. I didn't even realise that.

Yeah if you believed Lambore we've just come off the back of a good run.

Benteke and Delph have been very disappointing

If they play a bit better someone might buy them. They must want to leave B6 as soon as possible before their careers disintegrate

I thought we'd been excellent every single game?!

Lambert's famed inspirational half time team talk will have us up and at 'em in the second half  ::)

Benteke is not going in. May be scared of getting injured. He should have had Minegolet in the D when he came out to clear.

Well no shocks here ,lack of width again.Full backs again being the only ones wide enough to cross. The 4 CMS are doing their best but 2 of them are not in correct position.

A rare Sat afternoon away from non-league and after my horses all lost I have arrived at the pub and the stream has died.

Best news I've had all day.

well we are at home against an average team who really havent got any decent strikers themselves and their main man is out but we are lucky we are still in it .

Aston Villa is better than this.

I'd agree with this. We probably shouldn't judge the players too harshly, because they're being asked to play in a system that's pathetically ineffectual. Cleverley, for example, would probably look perfectly decent if he had more passing options available.

Have any of the pundits been ridiculing Lambert for picking four central midfielders and no wide players?

Surely Lambert has to remove TC and bring on Gil or Bacuna right at the start of the second half?

By my reckoning we are about 4 minutes from 8 hours without scoring.
