Lowest number of goals in a season.
« on: January 15, 2015, 04:27:23 PM »
With 11 goals in 21 games, continuing that rate we would finish on 20 and equal the lowest ever in the Premier (Derby County 2007–08). I would expect us to get a bit more than that and avoid this record at least.
However, our own lowest ever total in a season going right back to 1888 is 36 (1969-70). No way are we going to score 25 goals in the next 17 games.

That's 11 goals in 2 games!!!!

We can't really expect too many goals. We play forwards who got outscored by Martin Skrtel last season.

We have scored more than once in a match 4 times in 36 matches since we beat the Albion 4-3 at Villa Park I believe (Norwich 4-1, Hull 3-1 last season and 2-1 this season and Leicester 2-1).  Decent record.

Then we should buy a striker to play with Benteke as others are not good enough. (How is Kozak getting on with recovery)

Worth mentioning that those 36 goals were in 42 games and were in division 2.

Should of added a poll. I don't think anyone would click the "Will Villa score 26 goals in 17 games" option though

Haven't you heard? He says the criticism isn't helping. I reckon not being able to win a game isn't helping.

Even if we won all the remaining games 1-0 a new record would still be set.

Have the Guinness Book Of Records appointed a bloke solely to keep track on our record breaking yet?
