Nobody yet seems anti Laudrop though. Of all the suggestions made, he seems the most plausible in terms of record and actually being available.

This business on our second half goals shows the manager up too. He has no clue how to change things as the match progresses. It is so frustrating. Next weeks game v liverpool could be total poison

It's not the fans' job to find a new manager, I don't really get the idea that you can't complain and want a manager sacked unless you can suggest an alternative. It's just a way of shutting people up, IMO.

Agree totally, that has always puzzled me. It's not our job to come up with an alternative, there are any number of very well paid people at the club whose responsibility that is. That's like suggesting that those same people should sort out any of the poor management where we work. If you want the manager of your local NHS hospital sacked, you're allowed to say so without having to come up with a suggestion to replace him/her. So when is the twat leaving?

One thing that did strike me from watching the highlights again was that yesterday was the first time I've seen the players not putting as much effort in as they have previously. I'm just wondering if he's starting to lose some support in the dressing room. Despite some of the shoddy performances, you always got the impression that the players have wanted to play for him. Yesterday, the effort and desire did'nt seem to be there for me.

Lambert's body language just lately has been that of a defeated man. There's been no passion, he's just sat on the bench the whole time like McLeish did towards the end. He was asked about the fans' reactions in the interview and it was the same quotes that he always comes out with...'the fans pay their money blah blah...big football club blah blah'. Just the same tired garbage. He's supposed to be a leader who inspires, whether that be with the fans or the players. I can't see how he can possibly being doing either with his body language and template based responses.

I have some sympathy with him. It's not working out, he doesn't seem to be able to turn it around, the players look like they don't want to play for him and he just looks beaten.

He's got to go for the good of everyone. Villa is still a big club, there must be managers out there that think they could take the job on.

Awful isn't it my friend. At least, everyone on here seems united at long last in just how awful this twat is! I take some sort of strange comfort and reassurance from that, it's good not be alone in one's misery

We'll always be a big club, but what ambitious manager would want the job when Lerner runs the club on a shoestring while trying to sell the club? A new owner could come in at any time with a manager of his own. That would put someone off taking over right now. It's an absolute mess.

No, it isn't our job to find a new manager but neither is it our job to fire the current one. Yet everyone has an opininon on that.

Just as Lambert seems incapable of getting this team to play ay anything like a consistent enough level, so the owner appears incapable of making the right appointment. Sack him or keep him, I honestly don't see it making much difference other than by a complete fluke. It's all so completely underwhelming.

I'm in a good mood so I'm not going to read this thread.

Anyone care to sum it up in a sentence for me?

Summary

We were unlucky yesterday, we are on the right lines, we need to try and tie the manager down.
