We have now failed to score in 12 out of 21 league games this season .When you take into account that in the other 9 games we have only scored more than once against Hull and Leicester both in the bottom three, the clueless idiot should be given his marching orders for that abysmal record alone.

We can't afford to fire him can we, we just extended the idiots contract. He won't resign..so I can only see him staying, and relegating us.

He probably thought when Benteke came back so would the goals and to some extent so did i but the way he structures the side where we use full backs as wingers and pass the ball sideways and backwards it makes it vitually impossible to score, he's got to go or relegation.

Well if that was as bad as it has been, my fear is that from here it will get worse. A number of points highlighted today the total mess the club is in.
Infighting will get us nowhere, if only the players had the passion of the fans.
Leadership within the club could not be shown better than today, Gabby as captain, when he should not be on the pitch, but not only on the pitch but on as a captain.
Pearson and this was before the incident at the end, having a go at Marshall, Mr. Clueless sat there looking like a scared school boy, did nothing to back his staff.
Lamberts after match comment that we need to get into the last third, no shit Sherlock, one stage today second half, Hutton down the wing, looks up wanting to put a cross in and this was not a lightning break either, not one Villa player in the box, Gabby dont know where, Benteke five yards outside the box up field looking like another winger, Hutton has to go backwards. I would love someone to get the stats , what do they call it, the heat map and see how many times apart from a dead ball we actually have players in the opposition box.
As stated a number of times, he sends out the team not to lose, when they go a goal behind they do not know what to do or where to go.
Next weeks game will be Lamberts Bolton, the atmosphere if we go behind will be poisonous, because as someone mentioned earlier, You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all the people all the time. Mr. Lerner time to take action and Mr. Lambert time to go, if not the shambles that is Aston Villa football club at the moment, is just going to get worse.

Real danger of relegation this season. I can see us rotting until Lerner sells. A sorry situation.

I was talking to a Coventry fan tonight. He was at the Albion  game, he said that he doesn't understand it, said you got a great keeper, couple of good center halves, some good midfielder's (he was impressed with Sanchez) and Benteke, said the spine of the team is good so why are you struggling?...

Its the manager Fran I said.

I didn't see or hear any of the game yesterday but just watched motd and we didn't have a shot

Liverpool will get the backlash.

Liverpool players will all go to Jamaica, easiest game they'll have this season

Agreed. Take a look at Sheff Wed and there's your future...big club, big support, big ground, mixing it with the big boys, then a gradual slide until people forget all about them. In truth, the BBC have already forgotten all about us, we might aswell not exist. MOTD last night could barely be arsed to talk about us at all. We're ripe for being a major talking point with our lamentable recent record, red cards, supporters fighting in the stands over the clubs malaise etc but they didn't talk about it. Had that been Newcastle, West Ham and co they'd have devoted 10 minutes of forensics but you get the feeling that the BBC and the wider footballing public, would heave a collective sigh of relief were Villa to go down and join the dead men (Forest, Leeds, Sheff Wed etc). Well up yours delores. Ignore us all you like, we're not here to impress you anyway. I'm all for Villa adopting the Millwall motto of no-one likes us we don't care. Where once it irritated me that Villa were treated by the media like the embarrassing uncle, it now makes me even more determined that the footballing fraternity go to hell while our club rises from the ashes, not to prove them wrong, bollocks to them, but as the fans sang yesterday simply to give us 'our Villa back'. Whether the media choose to cover this resurgence is up to them, I couldn't care less, in fact I'd sooner we circled wagons and developed a siege mentality, they didn't want to cover us then so balls to them now. I used to be proud that Villa were many people's soft spot/2nd team, the club they didn't support but quite liked to see do well on the back of our great history, ground, following and even our colours. We're no-one's second team now, nobody wants anything to do with us but I couldn't care anymore, it's our club and I don't need supporters of other clubs patting us on the head, the media neither. I yearn for a revolution at Villa Park, similar to SGT when he walked in and described the place as a shambles before returning us to better days. We've given Lambert a 3 yr opportunity at this revolution and instead he's taken us backwards, if he had any decency he'd resign but his pride stands in the way so instead he needs the bullet, unfortunately the decision maker is sat in a mansion on another continent and probably couldn't tell you how to spell our name. I'm tired and emotional, we all are, will someone please let this nightmare end.

To summarise - fans to circle wagons, Lambert to depart, the media to get stuffed and a new manager to come in with a blueprint to save us from descending into the bowels of the Championship from where we may not return until our kids are grandparents. I'm off for a lie down and hopefully a Bobby Ewing style shower to follow where I discover this has all been a dream (and Victoria Principal is waiting for me to fall into her arms).

A very good post, Russon. You've summed it up perfectly.

Couldn't believe that Lambert was still in his job this morning. I suspect he will be tomorrow morning as well, and the next ........

Finally i agree with all those wanting Lambert out-it has gone too far. What I find amazing though is hardly anyone gives an alternative to Lambert. Whats the point in that. If some bloke at work comes up to me and says 'I dont think such and such and works but has no alternative idea, I just tell him to fuck off and try a bit of positive criticism.

Do you have an alternative?

My alternative would have been McClaren but he has already stated his intention to stay at Derby. Dyche would be good but would want a better club than ours with a totally disinterested owner. I think Eddie Howe could be  good choice too but the most important thing is that the owner sells the job to the candidate. Thats where as a club we will fall down and why Lerner is so tolerant of Lambert.

Any other choices anyone?

Calls for Eddie Howe ? That would be out of the frying pan and into the fire.
What we need is an experienced head , a no nonsense manager , someone who can shake the club down from top to bottom. Moyes and Pullis would have fitted the bill, we missed both chances in true Lerner style.

Agreed but didnt mention those 2 as no chance of getting them now. Just goes to show from what you have just said that replacing him will be a hundred times more difficult than sacking him. It irks that the 2 you mentioned were available and have now gone. I cant think of an 'experienced head' around who fits the bill at the moment. i would at least have confidence in Howe getting us out of the championship - because that is here we are heading fast as some of the teams below us improve!

I don't even recall the Leicester keeper barely touching the ball second half !
We didn't have a shot on target , that I know.

So if we sack Lambert, of those available who will change it for the club?
