Any ideas on what Lambert was writing in his notebook? I think it was a satirical cartoon of a certain religious icon.

That's what I've told Al Jazeera anyway.
What a crass , inopportune comment that is

Yep not great.

The good news is that one day in the future Paul Lambert will not be manager of our great club.  Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon (with apologies to Humphrey Bogart).

When that day comes I do wonder whether whispers will then start to emerge from behind the scenes about baffling tactics, poor man-management, unmotivated players.  I struggle to believe that the players genuinely want to play for him.  There is a nucleus of a competent side - not a great one, not even a good one - but good enough to collect sufficient points to avoid relegation and provide the supporters with one or two enjoyable games and a few goals.

However, with Lambert in charge I see nothing else but continued struggles, abject football and relegation.  Never mind the lack of money and reducing the wage bill - he should still be able to motivate players and organize them into an effective footballing unit.  This he has failed to do consistently.  A further irony is that one of his better performers this year is a player he marginalized for two years and who he would have discarded long ago.

Paul, you've been on borrowed time for at least 12 months.  Please show some dignity and offer your resignation to allow someone else the honour and privilege of reviving our club.

Percys comment was gallows humour at its best.

At its worst maybe, but uncalled for.

He's got to go. That today was pure cowardice. To not threaten a team with one win in 15 was more than tactical inability. That bloke can't motivate the team any more, and they don't have a fucking clue hiw to break teams down. Do us all a favour mate and resign.

Whether we hoof it up front, surrender possession and defend for our lives, whether we hold onto possession and pass it harmlessly from side to side and never bother the opposition, whatever tactic we use, Lambert fails.
Do the decent thing and resign.

Really very noticeable again today that Lambert barely got off his arse for the 90 minutes, just sat there, impassively wedged in his faux car seat.

I also wonder, how come he hasn't appointed an assistant yet.

Well, you can be a very frustrating man, s_h, so that does sound a bit harsh.

Because he doesn't want anyone querying the obvious mistakes he makes and doesn't have to justify himself to anyone right now, it's easy street at its easiest. If he does get an assistant it will be a nobody that is glad of the opportunity or a mate.

Only Hutton and another player went over to the fans, the rest fucked off straight down the tunnel.

In fairness to the players who didn't go over to the fans, plenty of us had already fecked off ourselves.
