We are 28/1 to win it
We are 28/1 to win it

I wonder what odds you could have got on a Bradford win when they were two nil down

As an aside, I remember when Paddy Power fucked up last season and put Sunderland at 90/1 to win and 28/1 to draw at Manchester City when they were a goal down. City's late equaliser was not met with great joy at H&V Towers.

May I add my "power to the underdogs" post to this thread?

So nice to see the small, unfancied clubs doing well in the FA Cup. Maybe Aston Villa will be equally inspirational in tomorrow's match against the mighty league-leading, goal-scoring machine that is AFC Bournemouth.

Apparently they were trading at 450 on betfair - considering the opposition and their home record I would have thought you could multiply those odds by 10 to get near the realistic price for what they achieved.

I think at 28/1 we should all get on Villa, we will not get a better chance to win this competition, we are normally about 33s before the 3rd round and with all the bigger boys left in.

It's about time we started ramming the piss taking back down people's throats.

Stick this up on the dressing room wall and remind the team who they play for.

Fuck Bournemouth.

If the villa players aren't up for this game they will never be up for anything. It would be a clear signal he's lost the dressing room.

The way I see it is that it's all still ifs, buts and maybes. However, get through this one and we're in a fifth round with a lot of the big names gone (and wouldn't playing Bradford give us a chance to exorcise a few demons?). After that we'd be 90 minutes from Wembley with no chance of drawing Chelsea again. It wouldn't mean much in the bigger picture but it would at least be a day out after so many years of misery. And at that stage anything can happen.

Or we win and then get Man U at home

Wouldn't that be nice. It will happen one day surely?

Just read a stat on bbc match preview, 'Villa have won 7 of their last 8 home FA cup ties'. That doesn't sound like our sort of stat, is it correct?

The snag is that our last 8 home FA cup ties probably stretch back to 1923 or something similar....

The last defeat I remember before Sheffield United was Man U about six or seven years ago so seems plausible.
