I think he said he'd rather us go out of the cup against a good team than a shit one. It's less embarrassing. Assuming we do go out of the cup just like every other year since 1957.

He said he wanted us out of the cup however anyone tries to dress it up.

That's exactly what I meant.

Of course I don't want us to lose. I doubt there's a Villa fan out there who actually wants us to lose a game.

Of course you don't, I knew what you meant and especially not against that despicable classless excuse for a football club

Some people don't like it when we score either.

Cambridge United, Scunthorpe United, Rochdale, Chesterfield or Middlesbrough away would be ace.

We are ball 11.

THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT. Ugh, this is why I hate posting on here sometimes. Annoying when I feel like I have to explain myself as if I'm on trial or something.

What I meant is that it'd be better to go out with a bit of dignity (losing to Chelsea away), rather than going out in an embarrassing manner (losing to someone like Preston at home). I'd love us to win a cup, but today's performance has just confirmed what I've thought for a while - we're never gonna win a cup with Lambert here.

You can shout as much as you like. Stamp your feet as well if it helps. But you are never gong to alter the fact that you said "I just want us to be out of the cup."

At present I don't know if an away tie at a Premier League team in deeper shit than us wouldn't be the best option.  They'd be more likely to rest half their first team for the next league game, our counter-attacking (for wont of a better description) style of play is better suited to playing away, and our away support is more vociferous than the currently morgue-like Villa Park.  On that basis, Leicester, Palace or Sunderland.

Just another boring easy game please. It would be great to reach the 5th round below the radar. Then the 6th etc

I want our dear neighbours, home or away. We need some excitement and I think it'd do a few of our players good to play in a game where passion and desire will be as important as ability.

I wouldn't want to play them with this team. They'd probably beat us and we'd never hear the end of it.

I just get a nasty feeling we'll get Blues. I hope I'm wrong because regardless of the result they'll claim a moral victory. No thanks.
