Benteke knees Bridcutt in the head while jumping for a header. Referee checks Benteke's boots for magic springs.

How can Weimann have regressed so much after his debut?

He's gone from being the best finisher at the club to being one of the worst. His passing game is pathetic.

As is his close-control. The fact that he's pretty much an instant choice in the team says far too much about Lambert's tenure for my liking.

I think our style at the moment can be summed up as all fart no shit.

I wish the Mods on here would introduce the auto word replacement for 'our new style' to 'trying to play football'. It's not as if Lambert is some footballing genius that has discovered a new way to play. He's just tired and failed every other possible option of avoiding the obvious.

The optimistic in me thinks we're just that one decent attacking midfielder away. Someone who can at least have us touching cloth.
The mid 3 are tidy but none of our supporting players for Benteke really create much.

how long we been waiting for that player. lambert has had enough time but he goes for a westwood clone on loan
We'll undoubtedly have to keep waiting. It was one of the first things he identified when he got here, but it's been 5 windows  now and the closest we've come is a 90 year old Joe Cole, whose bones have turned into spiders webs.

I looked up how many games he's played for us the other day and groaned, quite loudly. I do actually like Weimann, because at the very least he works his bollocks off, but much like Heskey and Holman he's a fucking abominable footballer. He's been best described as a dog chasing a ball around a park.

That short free-kick from Hutton was absolutely ridiculous. We could have played the ball into their box, instead 3 seconds later it's at Guzan's feet, with him being pressured.

Quite. It brings to mind the defending-like-Italians fallacy, when the appropriate phrase should have been 'defending'.

Free kick on half way line back to keeper to give away a throw in, the new passing game.

Could do with a couple of wingers on our shopping list to play eitherside of Benteke. Might actually make some chances then.

We must have the best getting forward but can't cross full-backs anywhere in football.
