Last season was a good time to play them too. We conceded 7 goals and even let Tom Cleverly score.

Sadly, the usual for me with Lambert saying "I thought we were excellent" afterwards.

I saw the first 10 minutes today and was confident of a 2-0 defeat with a couple of early chances created by us due to their terrible defence. Having heard the final score I assume Liverpool were abysmal?
Nope, de gea pulled off 2 or 3 brilliant saves.

Have a strange fancy that we will get a result here. They are winning but playing poorly and that isn't sustainable. We will need Benteke at his absolute best to have a chance but this is the kind of game that he should be well up for with the transfer window around the corner.

Some of their defending has been criminal of late, Liverpool today had a load of chances and Southampton and Arsenal should have beaten them comfortably. Lambert will be forced to play with three centre backs with all the midfielders out.
 I'd look at

--------------Guzan
-----Okore, Vlaar, Clark
Lowton, Sanchez, Cissokho
--------Bacuna, Delph
------------Grealish
------------Benteke

Subs - Gabby, Weimann, Nzogbia...not sure who is left. Poor old Chris Herd of course

No chance he will drop Gabby or Weimann for this one

Like it, but, I would go with Andi playing up top with CB, they do seem to play well together

Put your house on a 2-0 away win.

Do we have to? Can't we just say we've got a headache, or it's hair-washing day?

Or just run away for the day?

The only thing that could possibly lead to a Villa win in this game would be if I put my house on Man U. And no, I'm not prepared to make that sacrifice for the cause.

Just keep the glory hunting southern tourists off the pitch and that will be a bonus.

Or from sitting next to me, smirking; their eyes saying "never mind...pretty sure you'll beat some other team in the next 5 or 6 weeks..."

Cleverley scored? How did this happen? He's shit. I bet he's playing for somebody shit now...

We'll get a good beating in this one I'm afraid. Three or four nil.

I just hope Gabby and Benteke turn up.
They were notable by their absence yesterday.
