Just found out this excellent video has been fairly recently uploaded to YouTube: The Official History Of Aston Villa (1989).

Great stuff.

Didn't the original VHS mix our team photo up with Burnleys?

Still got that, aint got a VHS player though and probably never will now.

Not getting rid of it though.

"Withe & Shaw went together like eggs & bacon and they sizzled"

I think that's what Gerald Sinstadt said.

I've got this and others of other season VHS tapes from the late eighties early nineties, including the two league cup wins. One day I will finally get round to having them converted to DVD.

I used to do my own VHS season review back in the 80's taping all the clips off central news, MOTD etc etc.

It's got the actual interview with Ron Saunders asking "Do you want to bet against us?". Also Eric Houghton explaining how the Villa team was picked before each match up until the 1930's. Our first ever manager was in charge when Villa were relegated for the first time.

I wore that video out!

I had it for Christmas the year it came out and watched it over and over again. So good to spend the last hour or so watching it again.

What a wonderful club we support.

If it is the video I have in mind I was disappointed by one thing: there was an interview with Charlie Aitken recalling the wonderful League Cup semi final win v Man U in 1970 but no actual footage of that game. Other than that, I thought it was fantastic.
