Leicester (A) 10th Jan
« on: December 09, 2014, 12:31:48 PM »
We've been given a fairly small allocation of 2,500 for this one, does anyone think for one moment that it will go down to 1 away or will this sell out this week?

I have seen it written elsewhere that it has been limited on police advice. No idea whether that holds any truth, although I did think the police pressence on Sunday was excessive, especially as they only brought around 1800.

There was a very heavy police commitment at burnley last week too.

If it's true that the police have reduced the allocation then we should get some kind of explanation as to why they feel they can cope with 3,300 Man City fans at Leicester this weekend and the same with Albion last month, but only 2,500 of ours.
The police get paid a fair amount to control crowds, which 99% of the time nowadays must be a doddle - if they think a particular game might mean them having to do a bit more work their answer seems to be to stop fans going, effectively banning a random 800 visiting fans on this occasion.
They have so much help in terms of technology to be able to identify and deal with anyone who causes problems - why don't they just do their job if and when a problem arises rather than denying decent football fans the chance of going.

Thought that was a bit bonkers tbh.
Especially designed to get us in and out of the ground as low-key as possible - police escorts for the coaches that took us all round the Wrekin to get there...for 2.15...with less chance to have a beer or two anywhere but the ground! They got us away very sharpish though!

It's more likely the ticket office have reduced the allocation rather than the police.

Why do you think the club would do this? From what i can guage there is demand for tickets so why would they reduce their takings for this game?

If it's our ticket office then doesn't the no-refunds policy apply for 50%, rather than the 25% on this one?

Just on past history, Everton last season I think is an example. They don't always take full allocations as we have to pay the home club for un sold tickets.  They may ask for more if we sell out quick.

I think we did the same for Stoke first game. Took the smaller allocation first, got more after we unsurprisingly sold out.

Then why were we happy to sell over 4,000 at Burnley?

That's Everton's policy to only sell the lower tier first.
