How nice is it to have two back to back wins. Leicester not great but in Nugent and Ulloa they still had the sort of strikers who can cause trouble. Okore was colossus at the back and looked technically very good, Hutton was solid and deserved goal, note of praise for Sanchez too who anchored midfield very nicely. Benteke looked dangerous up until last 10 mins or so, Agbonlahor was dangerous when running at their defence. Note sure why Cissokho couldn't run ball into corner instead of giving Schmeichel a chance to start another attack, last 5 mins murder as always. I think we are more than capable of getting a draw at least at WBA if not the win but today was so so important. Still not a Lambert believer but a couple of goals and three points will go down very nicely in my house tonight!

Leicester are going back to the Championship.

We controlled the game until Westwood and Cleverly came off. Benteke could of had 5 on another day, Kasper their best player.

Okore had another good game although poor opposition.

Sanchez is starting to nail that spot down.

Gabby worked his arse off.

Grealish was inventive when he came on.

N'Zog needs to call it a day....

Much, much better. Unlike Palace, we controlled the match, got the goals through teamwork rather than a one-off moment and deserved the victory completely. Well done Lambert - maybe this week you could visit Mourinho to learn how to close out a match without giving the crowd heart problems.

Thought Okore was brilliant. Not sure what the point of N'Zogbia is apart from he runs around. When we sharpen our finishing up we'll batter someone. The defensive unit, given the circumstances around how they have found themselves playing, are really impressive at the moment. Good result and pleasing performance in parts.

Guzan 6 - at fault for goal. overall steady with some good saves
Hutton 8 - good goal, solid
Okore 8 - very good. good pace
Clark 7 - took the goal well. steady
Cissokho 6 - steady. should do better when forward
Sanchez 7 - steady, more mobile
Westwood 7 - was ok
Cleverley 6 - disappointing. one good pass. but expect more
Gabby 8 - good runs, worked hard
Benteke 7 - should have scored two goals. good pass to set up hutton. villa a much better team with him playing
N'Zogbia 4 - why play him?? off the pace.

Grealish 6 - good touches. looks lightweight though.
Richardson 6 - good pass to set up benteke. did ok.

We're better than the worst team in the league and for that I am grateful (and I'm not being flippant) Good performance and deserved win. It would be nice to breathe easier at the end of games though.

Well done to anyone who put money on the first Villa Holte End goal of the season being Alan Hutton in mid-December.

Superb win, keep the momentum going. If we can we can convince Delph to stay at thus rate. I ain't bothered about Ron as Clark like Baker has shown tremendous character when called upon this season.
Hutton really deserved that goal and I think many including myself are really pleased that a player can win us over. What a brilliant professional he is to do what he has done this season after the way he's been treated.
