Well, he may be past it but Cole just played one of the best - and the simplest - passes anyone in a Villa shirt has produced all season.

if only gabby and weimann were good finishers  , we would be half way up in the league

Can anyone who watches Gillette Football give a synopsis on the preview of our game earlier?

I wonder if a lack of Roy Keane might be having a positive effect. Or perhaps it's just that Burnley are crap? Either way, keep it up, Villa.

I know its Burnley, but there are several sides not dissimilar to their quality in this league. Having an attitude of wanting the ball and trying to pass and move, trying to win is so critical. We just don't try to do this enough and when we do we look pretty good at it. This all starts with the manager who has become a coward in how he approaches games and then every so often we play well and we all wonder why we couldn't do this more often.

He was always a fairly negative manager, maybe the handbrake has been taken off a wee bit?

I was wondering that. I think it's got more to do with the fact that Burnley are crap, and that Joe Cole is playing in the gap between their defence and midfield and making forward runs.
