We're defending a one-nil lead, sitting fairly deep and looking to counter. So we need legs, to get up and down the pitch.

So he brings on Bent, the most overweight footballer since Ronaldo ate the 1970 World Cup-winning squad.

Words fail me.

It was a staggeringly poor substitution, what a fucking idiot.

It's actually mind-blowing. What the fuck was he thinking?!

I've seen hippos move quicker than Darren Bent. Dead ones.

Gabby lost his man for the goal. His fault

Yes he did. One goal was never going to be enough against anyone.
Gabby's was the most obvious mistake, but it was shit from the moment they first attacked Hutton.

I think Gabby was expecting there to be some cover in the middle of the pitch. Which, to be fair to him, there had been until Lambert took off Sanchez because, presumably, he wasn't really doing anything, what with all that tackling and stuff.

I am sticking up for Sanchez.....he has come from a league where you have time on the ball into a league that is hustle an bustle playing for a team with no movement, belief or form (he also had a good World Cup having time on the ball).

I hope given time he will be a good payer for us but I worry that we may not have that luxury.

100 games with Lambert. Like watching the prototype under his leadership. No possesion, boring, failing support and scrambling for a point...at Villa Park!

Why he brought on Bent and took off Sanchez I'll never know.  A decent point on paper but disappointed having come pretty close to getting all three.

Clark did well as well as the ones you have mentioned.

Awful through the majority again. But we take any point no matter how it comes.

We've got too many players who are passed it or not good enough. We need 2-3 good additions in January or we could go down.

Guzan MOTM for me. Clark and that new fella who's name escapes me played well in the centre of defence. Hutton was good again. Cissokho looks like an accident waiting to happen still. Sanchez was a mixture of okay and shite again. TC did okay. Westwood is mediocre. Weimann works hard but ultimately isn't good enough. Zogbia was wretched. Gabby had a good first half, forgettable second.

They weren't too great. Quite lacklustre today. Point was fair.
