I suppose the other option is to play all 3 of Clrk, Herd and Okore, and then use Hutton/Lowton and Cissokho as wing-backs, keep the midfield 3 the same and then play the 2 goal machines Gabby and Weimann up-front.

We're certainly blessed with options.

I fully expect Herd to be in the side ahead of Okore to be honest. Herd isn't that big but he's actually quite good in the air. Given Clarky's not too good I'd possibly rather play Herd than Okore anyway, as we need at least one player to give Pelle something to think about. Okore is weak in the air.

I disagree. Clark is not a centre half for me so playing another non center half in Herd alongside him would be a terrible idea. He played Herd against Fulham away last season and he was awful. Okore was brought to play there so let's play him.

This the same Chris Herd that could not get a game in Bolton's first team when on loan recently.

Just found out that cheating c*** Dowd is referee so I'm revising my guess to 0-9.

This may work for us. Southampton could be a top 4 threat including to his beloved Yanited. Expect a 2-1 win to Villa having been awarded 3 penalties and the Saints down to 9 men.

You'd back us to score that many against 9 men? I admire your optimism.

Has Hutton ever played center half? He's got the build for it. I  think Lowton played there last season for a bit as well. Should be interesting but I reckon Lambert go with Clark and Herd.

Lambert on the touchline, Dowd in the middle...fair to say I might need tranquilising for this one....

ahhh....

...yes, the standard and style of Villas play will do that for me.

I'm going positive 1-3....WE WILL SCORE!!! an actual goal!

We seem to get picked to be on live matches by Sky suprisingly frequently.

Poor the Great British public.

It's cheaper than putting Mogadon in the water to keep the masses mentally understimulated and therefore compliant.

Right where's that conspiracy theory thread?

We'll do well to score, they'll do well to stop. Burnley becomes very important.

Trouble is, if their striker is a target man, strong and big in the air, with Phil and Baker out, the only other half reasonable option to deal with him is Chris Herd, such is the dearth in options and quality.

The answer to the question of life, the universe and everything is 42 Chris Herd

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth Chris Herd

The back four will be Hutton, Okore, Clark and Cissohko.

For the last couple of years, whenever I've seen Clark or Baker's name on the teamsheet I've usually let out an involuntary snort of contempt.

But then frequently they seem to actually play fairly well. So maybe I'm being harsh.

Such is the abject nature of our club & team these days I'm not sure i can even drag myself to watch this on TV.

I think we're going to get a good tonking and will struggle to get over 30% possession.

I really have come to despise Lerner these days for what, despite his good intentions, he has done to our club...
