I am going because I like the bracing breezes in the Upper Witton and staring at the floodlights until visions appear. Sometimes the digital advertising hoardings show unworldly colours and you can imagine you are at a drive-in cinema Northern California in Winter circa 1967 watching a psychedelic movie stoned on mescal.

Also the group of chaps sitting behind provide a constant stream of banter based light entertainment. I now know all the players who need to grow a pair, all the bottlers, all the fanny danglers and fancy Dans, the thimble riggers and the Nancy boys.

"Yer WEAK!" goes up the cry. "Yer fuckin WEAK!".
"Put yer fuckin foot in!"
"Get it forward yer fuckin haircut!"
"Fuckin pointer sisters! Track your man!"
"There's no ***** in the box!"
"Get it wide ya fuckin quiff!"

I must say that even though I am of the Church Mystic rather then the Church Militant, I often find myself in agreement with these stout Black Country yeomen, and find myself chuckling at their earthy wisdom.

Sometimes, standing in the horizontal sleet on the Birmingham bound  platform at Aston Station having stood on the Lichfield Road for half an hour breathing in the toxic traffic fumes, and then another half an hour on the stairs breathing in Skunk fumes, the stars spangle in the indigo sky and seem to say: "Don't worry, son. The cricket season starts in April".

This should be what David Bradley says in that 140th anniversary video.

And this is why I'm targeting a season ticket next year. I'm also hoping we run out to the full live version of Dark Star.

Southampton have scored 25 goals this season, we've scored 5.

I'm with Lizz on this one, a Villa win and Lambert to get a contract extension.

And another horrifying example of how shit we've been this season.  It would be all the same if we'd only played 4 or 5 games and Southampton and just been mullering the likes of QPR and Burnley.

But this is 11 games.  We averaging less than a goal every other game! I reckon the likes of Bristol City and Swindon would give it more of a go than we do.

Hate these Monday night games as I have to swap shifts to go.
I would just love to be able to look forward to a game with a bit of confidence.Dowd refereeing makes it worse as that twat really does seem to hate us.Having said all that I think we may be astounded and produce a battling 1-1 draw coming from behind ,here's hoping!

Suspect this is how Lambert will go -

----------Guzan----------

Hutton.  Clark Lowton. Cissoko

------Sanchez ---- Westwood --

Cleverly.                  N'Zogbia

----gabby ---------Weimann ---

Subs - given Okore bacuna Richardson Cole Bent Grealish.

Sorry if it has been mentioned before but if Okore is not on the bench tomorrow you can take it that he is the founder member of Bomb Squad 2.

Three nil defeat I am afraid.

The most predictable line-up I can come up with is:

Guzan
Hutton
Clark
Okore
Cissokho
Sanchez
Westwood
N'Zogbia
Cleverley
Weimann
Gabby

The big question is will Okore start or will he push Lowton inside to partner Clark.
The only other area he may juggle is Richardson for N'Zogbia perhaps ?

If we play Clark(e) and Lowton at centre half we'll lose the game.  i'm sticking my neck out there, I know.

If Lambert starts with Lowton & Clark I might as well switch straight over to Eastenders.

What the hell I am going for a slightly lucky 1-0 home win, and for our season to take a slight turn, at least until Christmas/New Year.  Weinmann to score.

whatever team we put out tomorrow is very capable of winning if we approach the game with the right attitude and positive game plan. It is unfortunately also very capable of being battered if we adopt a less than proactive approach which I fear we will.
