Even though people like Bono piss me off with their tax avoidance, in this case the tax implications are neither here nor there to me. He was either head hunted or applied for the job. Given the number of people looking for work in his field, doubt he was the only candidate considered. Good luck to him.

It's a Jersey-based job with Jersey income tax deducted. That may be less than the equivalent tax on a UK job, but it's enough to let the Jersey government spend what they need to run Jersey. Tax avoidance is about using offshore jurisdictions to avoid UK tax, which isn't the case here.
