Fairly good going forward but still looking for Benteke every time, the ball in to Weimann was a beauty, just a bit worried we are going to stand off them and invite them on which is fairly standard practice for Villa in the Lambert era. N'Zogbia has moments where he looks real dangerous, other times he looks bewildered. Nathan Baker playing well.

Classic 'if' stat. If we'd beaten QPR as we should have we'd currently be 6th!

We are up at halftime and not playing horribly...
...problem is that now Lambert gets a chance to talk to the players and spoiling it by managing!!

I'm all for criticising the shit football we've had to endure. But that was a good performance with plenty of goalmouth action, players getting forward and some good passing. The tactics are also paying off so far. So let's give Lambert credit when it's due

Still plenty of time for this to go wrong of course!

Well, I made a disparaging comment about NZog but he has played reasonably well first half. Has he got 90 minutes in him?

I hope we don't tire second half. Benteke, Zog, TC and Sanchez have not played a lot of football over the last year.

I hope Lambert and Keane keep an eye out for that and make a change as soon as anyone does start looking tired.

Westwood? N'Zog has vanished. Set for Grealish to run free and benefit from a midfielder in Sanchez who plays forward passes.

When Townsend comes on we'll have big problems. I'm not too bothered about the rest of their subs.

We should sign him in Jan

They have to take off Adebayor. The space in midfield is just a gift for us, and of their strikers he's been the more useless.

Only  area matchup we losing is Lowton vs Eriksen. They not even marking him cause they WANT us to play up  through him.

It doesn't happen often that is the problem with Lambert. That may be our relative good half we see after this for weeks.

You would think so wouldn't you? After the QPR game though everyone could see how shattered Benteke and Sanchez were.

We definitely need a second. Benteke' best chance of getting it is probably in the next twenty as he must tire surely

Would like to think we've got an option to replace sanchez but not sure we do. He's been good in spells but will tire and has been diving in to a few challenges. We do still look like we've got a classic villa park mistake in us still . .

Lemela will hurt us.

Kane could too.

Lowton has been excellent going forward. Defensively he needs Weimann to keep a bit of discipline and help him, we are wide open down their left.

Benteke looks beastly, but a bit rusty.

Sanchez ok, Cissokho dodgy.
