A mate of mine who is well known to a couple of other H&V posters was having some issues with his wife. She wasn't happy when he went to the game instead of taking her out to dinner. He said he would take her out on the evening. He chose to watch the game back on video instead. She packed her bags and left him.

Yep. They've managed to airbrush that out of history though.

I think we had a record number of black players in a top flight first eleven at Goodison in 1991 or 1992 under BFR. I have no interest in those sort of statistics as I don't care about a players skin colour or religion etcetera, but what a nice place to achieve that record.

What became of them in their separate lives?

Got back together after a year or so, had three kids then split up again for good. I was talking to another mate of mine a couple of weeks back. My mate from the Everton story has a new girlfriend. One mutual friend describes her as a stunner and another describes her as, well the opposite end of the scale to a stunner. So I am intrigued to actually see what she looks like.

I missed this. Well, attending it. I used to play gaelic football and we should have had a game that day but in typical GAA fashion, our opponents failed to show up and the match was officially forfeit unfortunately too late to make it to Villa Park but I did at least make it home in just in time to see Gordon Cowans open the scoring.
