I fail to see how any game is a must-win when there will be 29 left and the team we're playing would still be well below us.

I'd list it as more of an "important we don't lose" type game. Just to stop the rot.

Past performances count for nothing - we start from zero and a point is the least we should expect!
FFS it's qpr not Barcefuckinlona!

Lambert's reign reminds me in some ways of Houiller's season, a case of one step forward then three back. A good win every now and again, the hope that we'll kick on only to follow it by a few defeats. I'm not overly sure, but i think Saturday's defeat might have been the 4th or 5th time we've lost 4 on the trot under Lambert.

Well we've had under him

5 games without a win  Sep 22- Nov 3 2012
1 win in 6 Nov 10 - Dec 15 2012
9 games without a win Dec 23 - Feb 10 2013
1 win in 7 Oct 5 - Dec 4 2013
5 games without a win Dec 8 - Jan 4 2014
1 win in 7 Jan 13 - Mar 4 2014
1 win in 9 Mar 23 - May 11 2014
4 losses in a row Sep 20 -Oct 18 2014

So basically for 52 games out of 84 games under him we've been in bad runs. I wouldn't say it's complacency I'd say he's shit and getting beaten is the norm.
This really does sum up the Lambert Era, there is not one other manager in the league s that would still be in a job with his record.

And his reward a 4 year contract.

QPR's defence looked terrible and they really tired in the last 20 odd minutes against Liverpool. It's a perfect match for our counter attacking style and I think we'll win this one, as long as our defence holds out while we sit back and wait to hit them on the break.

To me it is a game that will set the tone for the run to xmas, lose it and it will be 5 defeats, losing to a hopeless QPR team which will get people on the terraces restless for the Spurs game and I struggle to see results against Spurs and West Ham so we could be very low in the table going into the next international break which will make our good start to the season such a waste.

Or we beat QPR and suddenly the table dosen't look so bad as we show we're better than fighting relegation this season at least.

I agree we're not destined for relegation if we don't win this but would put me at ease for the coming weeks. Otherwise it's another long winless run creeping up.

It's not a must win and the likelihood of one is very slim.

I agree that QPRs back line looks slow and is one we need to get at. Lamberts a fool if he sets us up yet again to try and bore draw the game.

Fingers crossed we get beat so you wont have to listen to any happy Villa fans on the radio.

Also looks as if Sanchez will be in for this one...stronger defensive line-up, much needed after Saturday's debacle!

You're boring me now. I'm going by history with my comment, why do you feel the need to reply to everything i've posted lately.

Trust me, you've been boring myself and others for a very long time with your unending negativity.

Your post the other night though complaining about Villa fans enjoying being 2nd will probably never be beaten.

It's not a must win but bloody hell we certainly could do with a win to lift all of our spirits.
