Didn't we do 5 unbeaten in his first season. Unfortunately this was just before the horrendous 15-0 run over crimbo, so it counted for very little.

Yes I think you're right, with the cup win at Carrow Road and the Benteke demolition job at Anfield coming at the end of it. Cue implosion from us. A bit like after the Chelsea win last season. The bad times seem to last a lot longer.

Would be interesting to see on how many occassions we've won consecutive PL games under him.

I think we did it twice in 12/13 and twice in 13/14

In Lamberts 2 and a bit seasons we've scored more than twice in only 11 Prem games. I can't bring myself to count how many times we've conceded more than 2 in a game. That would make horrific reading.

Conceded more than 2 twenty times, almost a quarter of all league games.

Which included quite a few 4's, and of course the 8. Painful.

A draw at QPR wouldn't be a bad result, stops the rot. It's important we don't get beat. QPR are a very poor side though and I wouldn't be surprised if they're relegated, so a win is not out of reach.

Seeing how QPR played at the weekend, if they repeat that, Villa might struggle and 'arry tends to do well against Villa, so I'm feeling worried. Lambert doesn't engender confidence, just the same old bullshit when asked for comments.

In the first 3 seasons of Pubehead we did it 17 times (I think) with a side that cost shit loads more than the current one. So by the end of this season there won't be that big a difference considering the difference in money spent.

It's easier to take when you're finishing 6th in the league though.

I think a difference with Pubehead was the style we expected when he signed, and it worked out like that. Solid, organised, tough to beat, which on the whole we were. We found an effective way to attack on the counter. I think we expected a lot of 1-0 wins, maybe 2-0's here and there.

What we expected with Lambert was more of a gung-ho approach. A lot of us figured we'd concede freely, but also score a lot. As it happens we concede a lot but don't attack much and always look pretty toothless.

Under O Neill we had a tendancy to just coast once we'd gone 2 up on someone. Occasionally of course it bit us on the arse. We had the talent to put a lot more teams to the sword, like we did against Derby for example, but we didn't do it enough. Ultimately, and I'm thinking of games like Stoke 2-2, that in part was what scuppered us getting top four.

Ultimately what O Neill did which Lambert has barely ever managed, is sent out a side that looked pretty solid, organised and well drilled. We did plod at home somtimes but we didn't look particularly like headless chickens. We didn't gift the ball away at every given opportunity. We just lacked a bit of guile when we were on the front foot. We're not even an effective counter attacking side under Lambert anymore because we can't rarely get the ball from back to front. Under O Neill we never really lost that ability, and even at home we played like Barca in comparison to how we play now at VP under Lambo.

Once. And the next two seasons?

That makes no sense SHQ. It was in total for his first 3 season compared to the 11 Lambert has managed so far in 2 and a bit.

Agree QPR is a must win, but history tells us that we're masters at screwing up games we should be winning.  Plus Loftus Road has never been a good ground for us.  I cant remember us win there.

I fail to see how any game is a must-win when there will be 29 left and the team we're playing would still be well below us.

Our record against QPR is poor overall, something like 18 wins in 52 games. I think we've beaten them 3 times at Loftus Road.
