Yeah you're right. We won a few games and Lerner thought now would be the best time to award him with a contract he simply didn't deserve. The fans were happy with the start so there wouldn't be as much protest as there could (and should) have been.

The depressing thing is that this is totally acceptable for Randy - hence the four year contract. Above all, it is that which has to change.

My decision not to renew our season tickets has been vindicated - club is sliding once again. Its not the fact we are losing to the "better" teams its the manner in which we capitulate each time. The sad thing is nothing is going to change anytime soon and we may face the club being involved in another relegation tussle - thats why I suggested earlier that we are becoming a laughing stock- just waiting for the old "Aston Vanilla" jokes to resurface (i.e the team anyone can lick)

but in the name of god WHY?? it makes no sense. He is doing awfully, has done awfully for a couple of years and has shown very little improvement, most of his signings don't even play. Why not see how he went till Christmas? why after 3 games? the fans were chanting for his head 7-8 games previously
