He wasn't manager though. McMullan was our first manager.

Fuck that. He got mentioned by a commentator (along with his honours) during the Cup Final I think it was. He deserves it and so do we. We shouldn't deny our own mythology, nobody else does.

But it's not true. We don't need to make up our history - we're not Manchester.

Hear, hear!  I'll also be spinning this fact to all and sundry by pointing out that Ramsay masterminded our successes without the help of Sky TV and financial doping - which makes  him a million times the gaffer Fergie ever was.

It's the 21st century folks, we don't want statues we want holograms and interactive 3D audio visual installations and a Bat Signal style sign in the sky above Villa Park. Plus a monkey in a fez.

We did have financial doping though, to an extent. Our stadium and attendances made us able to pay far better wages than many of our competitors.

We only stopped winning everything so regularly when they introduced the maximum wage in 1901.

You're on the wrong forum.

Rather than the four blokes under a gas lamp, we should put in place around the ground something to remind us of the Victorian era in which we were founded.

How about high unemployment, terrible schools, a lack of public services and a huge chasm between those who rule the country, and the ruled?

Ah, right you are.

We could employ a load of child actors with rickets to pick pockets outside the Holte

No doubt the Noses would claim apart from using actors, we're just copying them.

They all live in country manors miles outside the city of Birmingham, in places like Harborne."
