Great block by Baker. I worry for us though if we concede. Far too much on the back foot that last 20 mins.

Superb defending by Baker

Who among us ever thought they would read those 4 words? True, too.

Baker did really well at the end there. Good to get to HT with the lead in tact, and regardless of the final outcome we've showed we can play much better than we have done in the last couple of seasons.

A worry about Gabby? If he went off i'd be tempted to stick Jack on and play Andi up front.

Credit where it is due. He's looked composed and that last tackle was outstanding. Fair play to him. Good solid first half.

Good first half. Very well drilled. We've fully deserved our lead, and Big Phil probably should have had a couple more too. We've restricted them to a couple of speculative long range efforts and frustrated them.
Hopefully we keep it up.

Kudos to Baker as well. He's been excellent today.
Solid debut thus far from Cleverley.
Gabby has been on good form today. He's a real pest for the opposition when he plays like this.

Hats off to baker there. That's his forte.

Some suggestion gabby is limping. If he needs to come off I'd go bold and go grealish for gabby, Weimann up top. Grealish keeps the ball well.

First 20 was excellent passing and movement. Last 25, great defending and we kept our shape. Cant do that for the rest of the game though.

Great first 20, we've backed off since but we look solid so far. For all of Sky's fawning, Guzan hasn't made a save yet.

Come on Villa!!

Looked solid at the back and threatening up front.  I'd prefer us to hold a higher line but it's working so far.  Good stuff.  Hutton's rehabilitation is a miracle.

Jamie Redknapp can only talk about the wheel removers' failings, not Villa's brilliance. Boohooing about Sterling and Sturridge.
