Maybe not, but the Americans only have a short while to get their act together and learn some very harsh lessons before they have to start thinking about appointing their team for the next one. Mickleson's words might just be a Godsend if they give them the massive kick up the arse they need.

Mickelson's message was essentially correct, but delivering whilst sitting next to Tom Watson wasn't particularly fair.
