and another thing. Aston Parish Church....
« on: August 31, 2014, 10:21:09 PM »
...when did we start walking through the grave yard as short cut?

Have I just not noticed it before but there where a large number of folk jumping over grave stones.

I blames the absence of H&V sellers.

It's been happening for a few years and it is depressing to think people will do it.

If there's a path, then fine. However, walking over gravestones is unacceptable.

There is a path around the church but it is close to a lot of old gravestones, it is a shame if people are showing a lack of respect.

Not an excuse but the path is blocked at one end with current building work.

If you have an hour to spare before or after a game it's well worth reading a few of the Headstones. Quite a few are related to our club.

John Russell has written us something about the church. Have you seen J. Lees' headstone by any chance?

Whenever I cut through I use the path. Respect innit.

Afraid not. I've managed about half of the headstones. And I keep promising myself to go on a non match day so that I can spend more time going round.

John says that as we were Chapel there's not as much Victorian connection as you might think.
