See what I've been reduced to? Lovely balmy late August afternoon, and I've felt compelled to dig out the "lucky" scarf. Now a bit sweaty.

I hope you're bloody happy, Villa.

where the hell has that scarf been for the past four years!

I don't think they are better than us. Last season, in a stretch of abject misery we found a way to win a game, at Villa Park, comfortably against this lot. We have as close to a full side out (long term injuries aside) which has played really quite well in the league so far. At some point the goals have to come because we have created some decent chances. I was actually hoping Bent started today after some positive words from Lambert so we'll need to see how Weimann and Gabby do. But surely for Gabby something has to give and he can come back to the form we know he is capable of.

Two very even sides on paper. If Zogbia and Gabby turn up today, I'd fancy us. Particularly in the case of the latter, it's a big if.
My main hope is that we play Gabby left and Andi through the middle this time, to do them both a favour. Gabby's fluffed a few chances this season and his pace will be better used wide, and Andi is done no favours playing wide. He can put a chance away if he gets it, but he needs to play through the middle.

This. Oh god, this.

It's bugging me seeing Gabby up top and Andi out wide. They need to swap. Weimann is much better through the middle, whereas Gabby can use his pace against fullbacks and cut in from out wide to give slow Dawson problems today.
Andi had his best game of the season in the corrosponding fixture last season, playing through the middle. Two goals to boot.

Hull were literally playing in cotton wool for the cup final though, today will be a much tougher game. I expect a narrow defeat, would probably take a draw and be delighted with a much needed win considering the next 5.

I'd like Lambert to change things in good time if they need to be. If Gab or Andi aren't doing it, we need to bring on Benty with ample time to nick a goal. Giving him 5-10 minutes probably isn't enough.
That said, I'm hoping we can bring Benty on with the job done and dusted already.

Hull City

01 McGregor
06 Davies
21 Dawson
15 McShane
27 Elmohamady
08 Huddlestone
14 Livermore
26 Robertson
29 Quinn
18 Jelavic
23 Ince

Substitutes
02 Rosenior
04 Bruce
07 Meyler
11 Brady
20 Sagbo
22 Harper
24 Aluko

Paul McShane is one of the worst footballers in the top two divisions and looks to be at left back it seems. If Nzogbia cant get into form today well......

Seems like Jelavic up front on his own, something he isnt great at.

they look really average.

our selection is poor, maybe Sanchez not quite fit enough yet

Another low crowd here. With Hull not fill looks like sub 30k at the moment.

When we start playing well at home, our crowds will improve. Our football is my concern really.

Nice,  N'Zogbia didn't look pleased though.

Great bit of play from Gabby leading up to that.
