I quite like Cleverley. Not for seven and a half mill, but I'd keep him. And that's from someone who was very much against signing him.

I like him too - slightly surprised by the negativity towards him.

I don't understand why we'd pay £7m for a player who'd be free in a few months. I don't want us to buy him at all, but that's not the point. Surely Lerner/Fox/Lambert/whoever wouldn't agree to that?

If its a really bad decision they will go for it.

Man Utd have probably told Randy that if we don't coff up Everton will have him just to get the cash

Cleverley has done nothing to justify being signed IMO.

Takes the easy crab pass too often for my liking.

That would probably work too. They could get Ferguson on the phone to say a quick hello and Lerner would end up paying double!

I'd like to see us being a bit braver with him. Push him up to play more of a number 10 role. Get him instigating things in more dangerous areas and perhaps make runs into the box too. He's got more in his locker to play there than Westwood for example, and the legs that Cole doesn't have left.

Having a middle three when can actually keep the ball is something we shouldn't be too keen to discard. The problems lie elsewhere now, for the first time in years.
out wide being the main issue.

Evans was the best centre half in the league only two seasons ago. Valencia was a very solid player in the same side. That same side walked the league that year.
It goes without saying they would instantly improve us as would Young.

I'd love to have Young back. Particularly if we had a manager not adverse to playing a winger.

Best centre half in the league is somewhat far fetched. To put it mildly.

I've also noticed he doesn't have a left foot

I'd keep Clevs.

If we wait for his contract to run out, he'll go elsewhere. Sad but true.

As for Delph. It's difficult. He's our best midfielder, and I really like him. He isn't staying though, he'll be off. It bugs me, obviously it does. However.. he doesn't score a lot. Or assist a lot. So we won't miss any game winning statistics. We'll miss his play, his running with the ball and his ability to glide passed players with ease.. but we can get that from elsewhere and maybe get someone who scores goals from midfield.
