'Goin back' as supporters of my vintage are apt to say, practically all clubs put out their first team in the cups. With so much depending on staying in the Premier League each season nobody does it.Because essentially, these days, the cups don't matter a jot.Not even the FA Cup!
I know we are up for sale but we weren't when these debacles were well underway.Chelsea awayWigan homeBradford MillwallSheffield UnitedLeyton OrientRegular trouncings by Spuds. 15-0 in three premier league games.Lower points total than McLeish I mean what more does anyone have to do to lose their job.
The lack of mobility from Bent and Cole really hampered us, even with some awful service from Bacuna.

It's the bizarre English mentality and obsession with pace and brawn over technique and ability.I don't want the 8 stone ringing wet, floppy haired, Jack grealish flying into any tackles, shin pads or not, as he's a wisp of bloke. I want him beating players for fun and looking dangerous, which he does. He needs to understand that he has an obligation to track and mark when required, on the wing at least, but he can avoid getting clobbered as much as he likes. It's not that I think he needs to go clattering into tackles, but if you don't challenge for 50:50 balls they turn into 0% balls.

if he continues to play without shin pads, someone will teach him a painful lesson before too long
Quoteif he continues to play without shin pads, someone will teach him a painful lesson before too longI thought it was mandatory these days to play with them? When did that change?
It wasn't much different to our 1st team though so I'm not sure that explains it. The only real differences were bringing in Cole and Bent for Weimann and Agbonlahor. On last nights evidence they're both past it, but two former England internationals should have been good enough to stand in against third tier opposition.(In response to Ron Manager)
