Did we lose to Forest around 78/79 0-4 at a very early stage ?

We lost 4-2 away in 77/78 in the 4th round. We also lost 4-1 at Everton in the FAC 3rd round that season.

Am I right to think that we lost to Plymouth in one of the cups in the late 80's / early 90's?

Villa have never played Plymouth in a cup competition. Last time we played them was a 5-2 win at Villa Park in February 1988 - Tony Daley forgot which way he was supposed to be going and laid on their first with a terrible underhit pass in the opening minute.

I remember that 5-2 game, but I could have sworn we played them in a cup competition around that time and got knocked either on away goals or penalties.

Late decision to attend and ticket bought. Does anyone know if they have finished digging up Thimble Mill Lane and stopping parking there?
I parked there on Saturday - no problems.

We might be the only 2 cars there tonight !!

Much obliged! And yes indeed!!

We actually played Plymouth Argyle away in the inaugral season of the League Cup in 1960/1 after drawing 3-3 at home, the first replay being abandoned us winning the second.

So:

Given

Hutton
Baker
Senderos
Richardson

Bacuna
Sanchez
Westwood

Cole
Bent
Grealish

I'd have gone Clark over Baker and Guzan over Given, but can't complain too much.

I thought Bent and Grealish had the makings of a dangerous partnership v Parma

This must mean RL wants to move on KEA, Lowton and Stevens this week - they have not been involved with the 1st team at all. I did see some comment re KEA going back to Feynoord.

Otherwise good to see changes to front three.

Rather like that midfield and attack. If they don't do a Man Utd and get all complacent you'd hope they'd have too much for the rightful owners of the Olympic Stadium.
