One person's doom and gloom is another person's reality check. Taking the whole spectrum of where we are at the moment it is very, very hard not to be gloomy. As for the Arse my daughter has married into a mob of gooners and they are the most miserable bunch of nerks who ever sat in silence through a game of football.

My point was that all this stuff has already been covered elsewhere and I can't see much reason for a extra thread.

Its primary purpose is that its a one-stop shop for injury updates. The natural debate that follows will include people being annoyed that said player is injured.

I think it's a worthy thread.  We have two of our biggest players out injured and more players will join them as the season progresses so it's handy to have one thread to monitor their progress.

Yes but it's got a strong chance of turning into doom and gloom top trumps; "We'll be lucky to get 1000mins from Cole" - "Not even 500" has already been posted on the first page.

Yes, but that can be done elsewhere. It would be handy when you are time limited to be able to read updates without having to wade through all the comments to find them. I understand that discussing it is only natural but surely that can be done in pre-match threads or some such. Or perhaps I am just being picky.

If people aren't happy, because they think it'll be doom and gloom, don't enter the thread! We have a loan watch thread, why not an injury watch thread? Good idea as far I am concerned.

Benteke to miss just three games, if true, is a massive positive.

You are missing the point by a mile. It would be handy to be able to have a place where you can just see which players are injured without having to wade through pages of comments that inevitably veer off topic and that have people predicting that we will be relegated by Bonfire Night. If you just wanted to use it for another opportunity to play the "I'm more depressed than you" game carry on and as you say I'll add it to the growing list of threads I have no interest in because they are all saying the same thing.

Worthy thread IMHO. An injury list "drive thru" if you like.

Maybe a mod could edit the opening post with the latest injury news and expected return dates? That way, if you'd like to discuss it you can, if not, you can just view the opening post?

No interest and yet you felt compelled to tell me that. I understand your point Chris but you won't stop people from being gloomy, or, as I like to put it, having an opinion on what is after all, a message board. Perhaps there is a happy medium somewhere?

Was in a really bad mood after stupid row with missus, reading about Villa obviously wasn't helping and that just made me crack up out loud. Fuckin genius.

What's the news on Okore? I noticed he was not on the bench yesterday.

Yep, a link to Physio room would do it.
