They got rid of the head guards and it's all the better for it.

They said they got rid of head guards as you are more likely to get concussed if you're wearing it. However, in the women's boxing, I think, they are still wearing the head guards.

That makes no sense to me. Do women get concussed in a different way to men?

I think it's to do with the weight of the punch,my problem with the head guard was more to do with the blind spots from a punch coming over the top.

I must say I enjoyed the highlights progamme last night. I sat down to watch the highlights of the events I had missed during the day like the triathlon and the cycling. Instead of which I got a combination of the Clare Balding show, the One Show and Jools Holland. The triathlon was condensed into about two minutes of action as yet another 'celebrity' told me what they thought of the event rather than letting me actually watch it. They then like to ask inane questions of the competitors, their partners, their mums and dads, sisters and brothers and pet goldfish. All watched by a very weird live audience just sitting at tables smiling with no drinks or anything in front of them. Message to the BBC - I don't give a flying fcuk about Clare Balding, I just want to see some decent highlights of the bloody sport, not her ugly mug and stupid prattish comments about something she knows even less than me about. And breathe...

Didn't they used to play "Land of Hope and Glory" when England won? It's "Jerusalem" now. Much better than that "Sky Fairy Save The Kraut" rubbish, either way.

I'm a tad sceptical about this sudden alleged interest because it's taking place in Britain. I bet there aren't that many people who without resorting to Google could tell you where the last two Games took place or any memorable incident from them.

I seem to remember some controversy about how much the Games cost in Delhi, and whether they would be ready, but yes I did watch and I'm enjoying these as well.

Surprised to see you've got a negative attitude about it.

I imagine netball fans would, particularly if they haven't to be Northern Irish/Welsh. There are plenty of other sports if you're not keen on the girls' standing still basketball.
