Good for Scotland, recognising the air disaster.

Well apart from the first bit which I thought was a bit cringe making, that was quite good.

It's sport. I'll watch it. Wish they would get rid of some of the swimming though. Never understood why swimming backwards and swimming like a butterfly are classed as sports when running sideways and running like a moth aren't. Just designed to keep the Crims at the top of the medal table.

Shame there's no Twenty20 involved.

Apart from the obvious highlights, I'm looking forward to the rugby sevens.  Some of the best exponents in the world of that game will be there, including The Kenyan team, whose rise over the past few years has been meteoric.

Just having breakfast before catching the train to Glasgow.

Thankfully the officials are being given smart jackets and trousers - not those orange kilts - as our uniform.

Interesting, but very shocking, info-graphic doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter. I knew it was probably quite a lot, but I'm amazed it's as high as it is.

Good to see Stonewall publicizing this sort of thing.

Last month I walked by the Stonewall Inn in NYC to see where it all started. An odd pilgrimage I know for a straight British bloke.

Nor me, I always assumed that it was French.

However da Wiki says that, after the Germans were kicked out, there was a French bit and a British bit. These merged to form the country we know now. Although Cameroon is in the Commonwealth, its more closely aligned with France.

Interesting.

As our PM you'd think it was obvious..

My missus mentioned this figure to me last night and said how disgraceful it is. The trouble is that I was then going through in my head trying to work out which countries would ban being gay.

Pretty sure Jamaica does, so I'm assuming a lot of the Caribbean Islands also do. Some African countries like Uganda do, so maybe quite a few more ban being gay. Then, maybe some of the Asian countries?

Basically all of Africa, except for South Africa.

Northern Ireland still bans gay marriage cos they're in the Dark Ages.

Arrived in CG Officials village - not with the athletes this time.

My first impression (as usual when you come to Scotland) they give you the impression that things are utter chaos -but somehow things get done and you wonder why you were worried.

Train was late yesterday so missed getting uniform - last group this morning will get what is left - so if you see a strange looking bloke in a skirt that will be me! As long as it isn't an orange kilt !

I wonder if someone could enlighten me about the boxing. I've just watched an english lad bang out a minnow, but why aren't they wearing helmets? They wore helmets in the olympics didn't they? I might just be getting mixed up, but i thought that was the case for ams.

A girl is now dancing about with a mystic meg type ball. Better change over before i get accused of being a paedo.
