West Ham have qualified for the Europa as they topped the Fair Play League. Their season now starts on July 2nd.

Yes and having got rid of allardyce it's possible they'll struggle. Which would be hilarious

No chance,
they have the pick of either Klopp or Ancelotti have you not heard

I'm still expecting Benitez to turn down Madrid for it.

I was listening to 606 at the weekend and the number of complete muppets from West Ham and Newcastle who thought Klopp would be rolling in was astonishing. Yes, likely the most sought after manager in Europe this summer is going to show up and save Newcastle or work for the porn twins. My guess is he'll land on his feet somewhere there is CL football on offer.

According to one of the radio channels over here, Laudrup was asked if he was going to sign a new contract in Qatar, or interested in coming back to England at Newcastle or West Ham when his contract expires next month.  His reply was along the lines of "I'd be interested in working in the Premier League again, but not at either of those clubs"

Nice to know Michael learnt quite a lot about English football clubs whilst he was here.

Is he known for his arrogance?  He seemed normal enough at Swansea however - if true - it seems a bit unnecessary to say something like that.  Great for us, but not wise for someone within the game.

I suppose it can be seen as arrogance.

It's a very Danish approach.  Very blunt and straight forward. Our Norwegian neighbours can't work us out.  I work for a Norwegian company and as an Englishman it's quite amusing to see the frustrations of the Danes as they can't get a straight answer to the most basic of questions whilst the Norwegians are repeatedly shocked at the unfiltered answers they get in return.

He missed out on Euro '92, partly because he thought that excluding Yugoslavia for political instead of football reasons was wrong (punishing colleagues for the crimes of their government) and partly because of a fall out with the Danish coach Ricciardo Nielsen over systems and tactics and maintains that it was the right thing to do as he couldn't perform in the system Nielsen wanted to use and that there were other players better suited to it.

Not wise for someone in the game?  If you get him, you know you've got someone who's committed to the job under the terms of the contract. Don't be surprised if he doesn't renew a contract, and be prepared for a falling out if he feels that the rug's been pulled from beneath him.

Doesn't sound like arrogance to me - sounds like he just doesn't want to work for Gollivan or Mike Ashley, which merely shows he has a modicum of basic human dignity.

I agree Monty, but I can see how it could come across as arrogance.

Anyway the one area where he can be definitely criticised is accepting the tainted money in Qatar.

Wouldn't it be lovely if West Ham went down and started life in the Athletics track in Stratford as a championship side

When Leyton Orient were going well a couple of seasons ago and Spam looked like going down, it was shaping up nicely for them to be in the same division when Spam moved into the Olympic Stadium.

As someone who was wont to refer to Newton Heath as "TTOD", I am sure you could find an acronym for West Ham's new home at "The West-'ammers' Athletics Track, Stratford".

I think the Dutch are similar in there straightforwardness
I know 3 Dutch families and they all have that trait,

my son went to work for one of them a few years ago,
and he said right at the beginning not to be offended easily because they will just be very blunt about stuff,
its nothing personal that's just the way they are and don't really know they are doing it, but he had had people just walk out on him so he knew there was a sort of lost in translation problem

as it happens I quite like the up front approach, and get on great with them all
