Leon Osman scored a cracking goal on Saturday and they mentioned he's 34 soon, might have been day after. One club man, presumably retiring soon, I wonder if Everton's last home game with him in the squad will be televised especially and be on the front pages of the sports pages the next day?

To be fair he's not half the player Gerrard was, with nothing near the amount of accolades.

Not to say the circlejerk wasn't miles over the top at the weekend.

And this was a dive by Boateng that got Lord Saint Queen of all our Hearts Stevie sent off.

Although it is nice to see a picture of both Liverpool's most legendary player and Villa's most legendary player in action. Right up there with that shot of Mackay and Bremner.

He really was made of steel, Mr Boateng.  As well as refusing to buckle under that horrendous assault, he also managed to break Paul Gascoigne's arm on the side of his head.  I remember the H&V cover imaging him as Captain Claret.

Listening on the wireless.
Did a bit of a double take when Kevin Kilbain started discussing, to my ears, "Wanker Drado".

Took a few seconds to realise: Juan Cuadrado.

Got to admit, I chuckled.

Possibly the daftest sending off of the season, pinging the ball at the West Brom players from ten yards away for no apparent reason.

What a farce this game has become. Mike Jones will be hoping for a less feisty affair as he referees Villa v Burnley on Sunday.

That was a good gross from Fabregas.

I hope they bring Ramires on.
